New Music (R&B) - izzeYe Keeps It 'Groovy Baby' In His 80's-Themed Music Video
Promising newcomer izzeYe brings the heat in a creatively eccentric, 80’s-inspired music video for his new track ‘Groovy Baby’. The video, directed by izzeYe himself with the help of videographer and director SAULSWVY, shows off the NYC artist’s lavish taste, similar to that portrayed in the video for his recent track It’s Okay, which he released in April of 2018. Although similar in essence to the easygoing aesthetic characteristic of artists such as Frank Ocean and Khalid, izzeYe is making a name for himself by bringing in his own individual flair with beats influenced by a variety sounds from across the global music scene.
In the opening scene, izzeYe’s musical talent is portrayed with the artist playing a warm, soothing melody on a rustic piano. The audience is then thrust into a flamboyant, yet classical setting as izzeYe is shown in various rooms of a Victorian era-inspired home. He further adds to this allure of idiosyncratic elegance with quirky outfits, including a cheetah-print button down. The video then plays into the track’s breezy, carefree vibe by alternating shots of izzeYe taking a relaxed drive at sunset and walking through a secluded wooded area. The next scene, and my own personal favorite shot, paints a dual viewed colorful picture of a woman blowing smoke as the hook drops for the final time. All in all, izzeYe found a way to reach his audience with an aesthetically pleasing music video while still remaining true to his own unique style.
